The Chair called the meeting to order and roll call was confirmed.

Councillor Sless declared a conflict of interest on the John Noble Home portion of the meeting as a family member is employed by this institution.

Councillor Samwell declared a conflict of interest on the Brant County Health Unit portion of the meeting as Councillor Samwell is employed by this institution.

Councillor Samwell declared a conflict of interest on the Brant County Health Unit portion of the meeting as Councillor Samwell is employed by this institution.

Councillor Sless declared a conflict of interest on the John Noble Home portion of the meeting as a family member is employed by this institution.

There were no delegation requests.

Barbara Sutherland, Chair of the Downtown Brantford Business Improvement Ara, appeared before the Estimates Committee and provided an overview of the Downtown Brantford Business Improvement Area budget. A PowerPoint Presentation was made and a copy was placed in the meeting folder.

Brent Richardson, Chief Executive Officer, and Susan Brown, Chair of the Brant County Health Unit, appeared before the Estimates Committee and provided an overview of the Brant County Health Unit 2024-2027 Operating Budget. A PowerPoint Presentation was made and a copy was placed in the meeting folder.

Councillor Samwell rejoined the meeting.

Rae-Lynne Aramburo, Chief Executive Officer, and Ken Symons, Corporate Services Administrator, appeared before the Estimates Committee and provided an overview of the Brantford Public Library 2024-2027 Operating and Capital Budget. A PowerPoint Presentation was made and a copy was placed in the meeting folder.

Police Chief Davis, Tareq El-Ahmed, Chief Financial Officer, Vice-Chair Samwell, and Deputy Police Chief Saunders, appeared before the Estimates Committee and provided an overview of the Police Services 2024-2027 Budget. A PowerPoint Presentation was made and a copy was placed in the meeting folder.

The Estimates Committee recessed at 5:58 p.m. and resumed at 6:18 p.m.
